For sale is an Ancient Papua New Guinea Green Stone Trade Axe from an Estate collection. For many years the green axes were used daily in the highlands of Papua New Guinea and were widely traded, often in the context of ceremonial exchanges IE wedding, funeral and other ceremonial events. Western highlands men in full traditional attire would hold a green axe or carry it under the armpit while marching around and chanting the ritual traditional songs.

Axe was apparently found during an archaeology. It is one of the nicest Green Stone Axes that I have seen. The measurements are as follows. 21 cm long x 8.5 cm wide x 3.5 cm deep. Weight is 925 grams (just short of one kilo).
